ATS Assistant Center Supervisor – Atco, NJ

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent and two years working with people with developmental disabilities. Minimum 21 years of age. NJ driver's license and acceptable driving record required.

Job Summary:
Center Supervisors are the on-site managers of Adult Training Centers, and are responsible for the supervision of direct-care staff and service recipients. Assistant Supervisors perform duties as required in order to assist and support the Center Supervisor. In the Supervisor's absence, the Assistant Supervisor acts in the same capacity as the Supervisor, with the same duties, responsibilities, and authority.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Accept and demonstrate the Agency's Standard of Cooperative Teamwork.
2. Assist in supervising the operation of an Adult Training Center in accordance with the goals and objectives of The Arc of Camden County and the regulations of the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities and Department of Human Services
3. Assess and advocate for the needs of service recipients.
4. Assist in the supervision, training, and evaluation of staff assigned to the Center.
5. Represent consumers and the Agency in a positive and professional manner.

Physical Demands and Minimum Requirements of Position:
1. Following appropriate training, must be able to operate a Hoyer lift.
2. Following appropriate training, must be able to operate a wheelchair lift and properly secure a wheelchair and it's occupant in a properly equipped motor vehicle.
3. Must be able to individually lift 20 pounds on a frequent basis.
4. Must be able to join a team lift of up to a minimum of 100 pounds on an occasional basis.
5. Must be able to push a wheelchair.
6. Must be able to individually support and/or guide an individual weighing up to 125 pounds.

Qualifications:
Minimum 21 years of age, two years of college work and two years working with people with developmental disabilities preferred. Additional experience may be substituted for college course work. GED or High School Diploma. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Job Summary:

Must have valid CNA or Multi Skilled Technician Certification. Must have GED or High School Diploma and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities:
The CNA will be responsible for all duties as assigned by the Manager so that the residential facility will operate smoothly and provide the service recipients the opportunity for maximum growth. The CNA will also be responsible for maintaining accurate knowledge of residential procedures, shift responsibilities, operation manual, individual service recipient characteristics, and Personnel Policies and Procedures.

Physical Demands:
1. Standing/walking -- Must be able to walk a minimum of 2 hours at a time while on outings and in the home or apartment program.
2. Lifting/carrying -- Required to perform a 2 person lift. Must be able to lift objects weighing a minimum of 25 lbs.
3. Pushing/pulling -- Frequent pushing and pulling of wheelchairs, hoyer lifts and stretchers. Must be able to push an individual in a wheelchair regardless of weight. Occasional pushing and pulling of furniture to clean.
4. Climbing -- Must be able to climb a minimum of 15 stairs a number of times throughout the day. Must be able to climb stairs while carrying items such as laundry baskets and grocery bags and boxes.
5. Stooping/bending -- Frequently required to bend and stoop to house clean, and lock wheelchairs down in vehicles. Bathing individuals may require that staff member stoop and bend for a minimum of 10 minutes a day per individual bathed.
6. Handling/grasping -- Frequent handling and grasping is required throughout the day to complete consumer treatments, dispensing medication, bathing of individuals, housekeeping tasks and driving agency vehicles.
7. Kneeling -- Frequent kneeling during housekeeping duties and while bathing individuals.
8. Reaching -- Frequent reaching for objects at a height between the ankle and above the shoulders to place or remove items from shelves. Reaching is required when positioning an individual who requires total care or needs frequent repositioning to avoid skin breakdown.
9. Foot/hand controls -- Required to drive the program vehicle and operate the hoyer and van lifts.
10. Pinching/fingering -- Frequent pinching and fingering is required to dispense medication, complete paperwork, using a computer, complete medical treatments and complete activities of daily living for the individuals in the program.
11. Strength -- Must have the ability to perform a 2 person lift on an individual. Must be able to operate and maneuver a hoyer lift. Must be able to frequently carry items weighing a minimum of 25 lbs.

ATS Program Specialist

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related discipline. Knowledge of principles and methods of needs assessment and the development of service plans for people with developmental disabilities. Minimum 21 years of age, NJ driver's license and acceptable driving record required.

Job Summary:
Program Specialists are responsible for the IHP process for individuals attending Adult Training Centers. Additionally, Program Specialists serve as resources for Center Supervisors and direct care staff in developing programs and service plans.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Accept and demonstrate the Agency's Standard of Cooperative Teamwork.
2. Act as an advocate for individuals attending Adult Training Centers.
    a. Understand and support human rights, and demonstrate respect for the individual in all interactions.
    b. Participate in the identification and elimination of obstacles to community and program participation.
    c. Develop programs and service plans to address individual needs as necessary, and provide training and assistance to staff in their implementation.
    d. Identify, locate, and assist in obtaining adaptive equipment or devices.
3. To coordinate the development and implementation of Individual Habilitation Plans, within the policies of the Arc of Camden County and the guidelines of the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities and Department of Human services.
    a. With Center staff, conduct assessments of the needs and desires of service recipients. Assessments should be scheduled well in advance of the IHP meeting.
    b. Based upon assessed needs, develop goals and objectives for each person's IHP.
    c. Schedule meetings of the Interdisciplinary Team and notify the IDT of those meetings.
    d. With Center staff, conduct periodic reviews of individual progress and modify IHPs as necessary.
    e. Following each IHP, prepare new Daily Training Records for staff use.
    f. Review and initial DTRs at the conclusion of each month. Assist with filing DTRs.
4. Act as a resource to supervisory staff in the operation of Adult Training Centers.
    a. Assist in the orientation and training of staff.
    b. Assist in maintaining service recipients' files and records, including accurate and current Emergency Cards, Annual Medicals, Emergency Treatment Forms, Transportation Sign-offs, Supervision Assessments, and Adaptive Behavior Summaries.
    c. Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with stakeholders.
    d. Report and document unusual and in-house incidents in accordance with Division, Department of Human services and Agency policy.
    e. Assist with the development and implementation of program activities that will address the needs of individuals attending Adult Training Centers.
    f. Participate in the development of strategies to address behavioral issues or concerns.
    g. Identify, report, monitor, and address safety or medical issues effecting the welfare of service recipients and staff.
5. Represent consumers and the Agency in a positive and professional manner.
    a. Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with stakeholders.
    b. Attend meetings, trainings, and workshops as required to effectively carry out responsibilities and grow professionally.

ATS Van Aide - Part Time (Berlin Area)

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum 21 years of age. Experience working with people with developmental disabilities preferred. Valid Driver's license with acceptable driving record required.

Job Summary:
To assist in the supervision and transporting of individuals to and from Adult Training Centers and Center-sponsored events.

Responsibilities:
1. Accept and demonstrate the Agency's Standard of Cooperative Teamwork.
2. Provide appropriate supervision and assistance to individuals being transported, including assisting individuals on and off the vehicle.
3. Provide curb-to-curb transportation to individuals served. Aides must remain with their vehicles, and may not transport individuals to or from the home. Ensure that service recipients are not left unattended in a vehicle.
4. Ensure that all individuals are properly secured and belted prior to moving the vehicle. All wheelchairs must be secured with four-point restraints.
5. Monitor the appearance and operation of Agency vehicles and notify the Center Supervisor of problems or concerns. Assist with the completion of the Vehicle Safety Checklist each month.

Part Time CNA/MST/HHA

Qualifications:

Minimum 21 years of age, experience working with people with developmental disabilities preferred. GED or High School Diploma. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Job Summary:
Per Diem ATS Instructors plan and supervise activities for the adults with developmental disabilities who attend Adult Training centers. AT Centers typically serve 30 to 36 service recipients, and are staffed by 5 to 7 Instructors. Substitutes Instructors work on an on-call basis to fill temporary staff absences.

Responsibilities:
1. Plan daily activities for service recipients and provide the supervision and/or assitance as needed for individual and group activities. This may include hand-over-hand assistance.
2. Provide supervision and/or physical assitance during eating and lesire times, and during personal care activities such as changing, showering, toileting, etc.
3. Administer prescribed medications according to DDD and Agency policies and procedures.
