The Arc of Camden County’s “Help One Get Hired” program is growing New Jersey’s Employment First vision.
The Arc of Camden County’s “Help One Get Hired” program seeks to realize New Jersey’s “Employment First” initiative endorsed by Governor Chris Christie in April 2012. Employment First means that competitive employment is the first and preferred goal for all New Jersey citizens, including those with disabilities.
“Help One Get Hired” bridges the gap between people with disabilities and their community businesses. “Help One Get Hired” specifically focuses on connecting the special education programs at local high schools with career exploration services and resources. These experiences enhance the employability of participants as well as provide critical knowledge about vocational preferences and skills. Businesses experience the strength of an underutilized workforce, positively influence their community, and gain publicity for participation.
PLEASE NOTE: The “Help One Get Hired” program has now ended. We thank all of the local businesses who participated in this very successful program. Keep checking our website for future opportunities for business support of our programs at The Arc of Camden County.
